Job Description:Β This position works as part of an interdisciplinary health care team.Β  Under the direction of the Provincial HealthLine 811 Clinical Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs.Β  This includes health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other education and Training:

  • Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Experience:

  • 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care
  • Experience in tele-triage is an asset.
