Summary

Reporting to the Site & Resident Care Manager, Assisted Living Coordinator or designate, in alignment with the creation of a vibrant community, and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the LPN Supervisor is responsible for providing first line supervision to Assisted Living Workers and Activity Workers and providing nursing care to an assigned group of tenants according to established policies and procedures and the Standards of Practice for the Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia.

What You Bring

Education:

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification
  • Three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures
  • Supervisory, coaching, and teaching skills
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with clients
  • Observant and capable of recognizing changes in clients
  • Models conflict resolution strategies
  • Identifies and addresses client learning needs through teaching

Your Day to Day

  • Supervise Assisted Living Workers and Activity Workers
  • Monitor and follows up on staff work to ensure outcomes are achieved
  • Participate in the assessment process, development, and modification of individualized Personal Service Plans
  • Provide nursing care as required
  • Communicate with and supports tenants
  • Model care philosophy and shares knowledge with staff
  • Complete and maintains documents and records related to tenants
  • Identify and responds to tenant and family learning needs
  • Act as a resource by answering inquiries
  • Participate in meetings such as Community Gathering and Care Conferences
  • Provide input to Coordinator regarding equipment and supplies
  • Provide support and assistance to Assisted Living Workers with duties as time permits
