Registered Practical Nurse

The Perioperative Team in the Same Day Surgery (SDS) Unit at WLMH provides care to a high volume of adult surgical patients specializing in Gynecology, General Surgery, Urology, Dental, and Endoscopic procedures.

1. Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses as a Registered Practical Nurse.
2. Current B.C.L.S. (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
3. R.P.N. Added Nursing Skills course
4. Operating Room Certificate an asset
5. Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families and co-workers in an effective, professional, positive caring manner.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving.
8. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
9. Operating Room Certificate an asset
10. Day Surgery experience within the last two years is preferred
11. Flexibility in scheduling is required in order to meet the operations of the department ie. 06\:30am start time and department closures
