Position: Registered Nurse and APRN-Primary and Acute
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients.
Units available: RNs-Operating Room (OR), ICU (Medical, Surgical, Neuro & Cardiac),
Emergency (ER), Cardiac, PACU
APRNs-Primary & Acute-Onc, Cardiac, CNM, Neuro, Behavioural, Trauma,
ICU, Pedi, Clinic, Electrophysiology
Term: Full time positions 36 or 40 hrs per week depending on 8 or 12 hr shifts.
Long term contract as direct hospital employee
Start Date: ASAP pending state licensing & paperwork. We can assist you with all USA licensing, paperwork and immigration requirements.
Experience Required: 3 years licensed RN experience (post nursing school) in same unit as potential position in acute care hospital of at least 150 beds. Some units may accept 12-24 months experience in relevant specialty.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Other Requirements:
Passed NCLEX RN
Eligible for Hawaii RN license (and APRN where required)
Current CGFNS VisaScreen (Apply at www.cgfns.org)
Current American or Canadian passport or valid Green Card
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC as required by each unit.
Essential Job Functions:
General Nursing Functions-Will vary by unit
· Make rounds with physicians as appropriate.
· Requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with established procedures.
· Consult with the physician in providing the patient care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc., as appropriate.
· Carry out patient care according to hospital standards.
· Administer services within the applicable scope of nursing practice, as appropriate and in accordance with applicable standards.
· Obtain sputum, urine, blood and other specimens for lab tests as ordered.
· Take and record TPRs, blood pressures, etc., as appropriate.
· Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as appropriate.
· Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
· Review medication cards for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies.
· Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required, and in accordance with established procedures.
· Carry out appropriate and accurate charting and documentation
