MacIntosh Cancer Clinic, located at Belleville General Hospital, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Oncology to join our interdisciplinary team. About the Role
As an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Quinte Health, you will provide direct, comprehensive care and services to patients across our diverse communities. The Cancer Clinic offers a full spectrum of oncology care, including diagnosis, care planning, treatment, follow-up, emotional support, and pain and symptom management. Treatments include chemotherapy, biotherapy (immunotherapy), and supportive therapies such as blood transfusions.
You will:
• Lead Comprehensive Patient Care: Support oncology patients in both the clinic and inpatient settings, delivering expert assessment, care coordination, and advanced practice interventions.
• Drive Palliative Care Excellence: Provide compassionate palliative care across all Quinte Health inpatient units, ensuring patients and families receive the highest level of support during challenging times.

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class.
• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 3 years experience in oncology
• Current BLS certificate.
• Oncology experience required, with Palliative Care experience being an asset.
• In-patient experience is preferred.
• Certification in Oncology and/or Palliative Care Nursing is desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Excellent assessment, planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
• Commitment to patient and family-centered care.
• Ability to work autonomously and in interdisciplinary settings.
• Understanding and adherence to patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies.
• Collaborating with the interprofessional team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Utilizing advanced knowledge, skills, and judgment to provide care for patients in the Acute In-Patient program, particularly within the Complex Continuing Care unit.
• Conducting comprehensive client assessments, generating diagnoses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, and performing specific procedures within the RN-EC scope of practice.
• Responding promptly to changes in patients' health status and needs, ensuring their safety and maximizing their function.
• Leading the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols, promoting evidence-based practice, and facilitating system change.
• Lifelong learning and contributing to the learning of others.
