Your Opportunity:

The Complex Care Support Team (CCST) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) with expertise in geriatrics and dementia care to join our North Zone team. CCST is a specialized consultation service supporting some of the most complex adult patients across the North Zone, including individuals with dementia, brain injury, and complex medical needs. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across a variety of settings, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will bring strong clinical knowledge in responsive behaviours, as well as experience in the assessment and management of dementia and delirium, including medication optimization. You will play a key role in supporting patients, families, and care providers by applying best practices and delivering thoughtful, evidence-informed care. As a valued member of the team, you will also contribute in a leadership capacity by mentoring colleagues, supporting quality improvement and research initiatives, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external partners. This position includes a combination of in-person patient care and virtual consultation, supported by a team of Nurse Practitioners and physician specialists. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Location negotiable within the North Zone.

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience managing complex clients with dementia. Minimum 1 year of Seniors Health experience. Advanced clinical & assessment skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in at least two (2) care sectors, including Geriatrics. Experience in program planning, education of adults, interdisciplinary practice, and research activities. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills. Ability to work independently & to be flexible to adapt to changing clinical situations.
