Nurse Practitioner for Leading Fertility Clinic in Oakville

MDSearch is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Nurse Practitioner to join an esteemed fertility clinic located in Oakville, within the Greater Toronto Area. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Clinical Assessment: Conduct comprehensive medical history interviews and physical examinations of female patients. Perform gynecological exams, including pelvic examinations and breast examinations. Evaluate and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
  2. Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and manage a wide range of obstetric and gynecological conditions, such as prenatal care, reproductive health issues, and menopausal management. Prescribe medications, order tests, and develop treatment plans, including surgical interventions, in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians.
  3. Prenatal Care: Provide prenatal care and counsel expectant mothers on nutrition, prenatal health, and childbirth preparation. Monitor fetal development, perform ultrasounds, and address common prenatal concerns.
  4. Reproductive Health: Offer family planning and contraception counseling, including prescribing contraceptives and managing contraceptive complications. Diagnose and treat reproductive health issues, including sexually transmitted infections.
  5. Menopausal Care: Manage menopausal symptoms and provide education on hormone replacement therapy and lifestyle adjustments.
  6. Patient Education: Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and OB/GYN care. Encourage women to engage in routine screenings and promote a healthy lifestyle.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care. Consult with other specialists as needed to provide comprehensive care.
  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for patient encounters, including clinical findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.


Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program with a specialization in Women's Health or Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Women's Health or Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • A strong commitment to patient-centered care and women's health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (as required).
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based practices in OB/GYN care.
