Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence based care, health promotion and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with residents, families and other disciplines. This includes resident assessments, supporting inter-professional collaboration and participating in continuous improvement. The LTC NP reports directly to the Nurse Manager of Tatagwa View. The NP will work to full scope of practice of an RN (NP) and promotes quality health care outcomes and standards to ensure that residents of Tatagwa View receive a high standard of care. The NP will provide visiting services to sites within the service area. The service area is subject to change

Experience

  • Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area

Education

  • Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
