Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of advanced health assessment and diagnosis, therapeutic management with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute pediatric illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The Nurse Practitioner practices within a framework of evidence-based practice, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities, including supporting inter-professional collaboration and continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. The Nurse Practitioner is prepared with the necessary competencies to practice in health care environments that assess and treat patients with acute and complex care needs, ranging from common to complex patients with medical co-morbidities.

Experience

  • Five (5) years nursing experience

Licenses

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner (RN(NP))

Other Education and Training

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
