Job Description: The Low Intensity Rehab and ABI Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and performs specific procedures in the management and treatment of patients in the common inpatient acute care cardiovascular environment. This position will provide advanced nursing support and continuity of care for patients admitted to Low Intensity Rehab and ABI Unit. The RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based acute care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes: supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • Five (5) full time years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience in advanced care nursing support for patients w/ geriatric population
  • Exp. in advanced care nursing support for patients with cardiovascular disease

Education

  • Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)

Licenses

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certificate (ACLS)

Other Education and Training

  • CNA certificate in clinical practice area is an asset
  • Current CPR Level C
