LHHW houses the Allard Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Clinic, Alberta’s first clinic focused on research and care for women with high-risk cancers. WHAT YOU’LL DO: In this dynamic role, you’ll be at the forefront of diagnosing and treating a wide range of complex, undifferentiated diseases and conditions, working within a multidisciplinary team to order vital diagnostic tests, develop tailored treatment plans, and manage medications. Your expertise will shine as you interpret results, monitor patient progress from the immediate postoperative recovery through discharge and follow-up, and prioritize care to ensure the best outcomes. Engaging directly with patients and their families, you will communicate diagnoses and prognoses with compassion, offering crucial support and counseling. You’ll coordinate complex discharges, while actively contributing to cutting-edge research that pushes the boundaries of patient care and nursing excellence. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience. Practices trauma-informed, patient-centered care. Demonstrated leadership and acute care clinical skills. Experience in staff education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams. Passionate about this patient population. Self-directed with strong teamwork and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experienced in orienting and training new staff. Gynecology and oncology experience is an asset. Familiarity with Connect Care system is beneficial.
