Job Description: The Clinical Staff Educator works collaboratively with management/staff at multiple sites to provide or coordinate general staff development and education based on theory and knowledge along with principles and processes of adult learning. They assist in developing, delivering and evaluating educational in-services/activities/programs/workshops. They will promote a culture in which educational learning is valued, evidence and best practice based; where clinical standards are supported. They will support the development/review of policies, procedures, practice changes and initiatives and be expected to use critical thinking skills to select, review, synthesize and apply best practice. This position involves significant computer work, in-depth literature searches, use of multiple media applications, and interactive and online educational materials & is responsible for maintaining the education database, communicating with managers to validate required educational needs and competencies.

Experience

• Requires experience in program/resource development related to needs assessment.
• Three years' experience related to the clinical area within the past five years
• Experience using electronic assessment tools will be considered an asset.
• Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
• Requires experience in planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation.

Education

• Requires or in progress towards a recognized Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

Licenses

• Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

• Graduate of an approved Nursing school
