This role sits at the intersection of clinical leadership and virtual care innovation, overseeing a team of Nurse Practitioners delivering high-quality primary care services in a remote care environment. You will provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and escalation support while ensuring safe, evidence-based practice aligned with provincial regulatory standards. The position plays a key role in maintaining care quality, patient safety, and service consistency across a high-volume virtual care program. You will collaborate closely with medical advisors, operational leaders, and external stakeholders to improve clinical workflows and outcomes. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced NP who thrives in dynamic, technology-enabled healthcare environments. You will also contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and the ongoing evolution of virtual care delivery models.
Accountabilities
- Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day oversight to a team of autonomous Nurse Practitioners delivering virtual primary care services, ensuring safe, consistent, and evidence-based practice.
- Act as a clinical mentor and escalation point for complex, high-acuity, or uncertain patient cases, supporting clinical decision-making and risk management.
- Support adherence to NANB standards, provincial regulations, and organizational clinical policies while promoting NP autonomy and scope of practice.
- Participate in on-call clinical support, incident review, and patient safety investigations, ensuring timely resolution of clinical concerns.
- Collaborate with medical advisors and operational teams to identify trends, improve service delivery, and enhance patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of clinical protocols, virtual care pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Review performance data, KPIs, and clinical reports to support continuous improvement and alignment with SLAs and contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of Nurse Practitioner experience, ideally in primary care or urgent care, with strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills.
- Active NP licensure in good standing with NANB and any applicable provincial regulatory body in Canada.
- Experience in virtual care, telehealth, or high-volume clinical environments is strongly preferred.
- Background in clinical leadership, quality improvement, case review, or clinical governance activities.
- Strong understanding of healthcare KPIs, SLAs, and virtual care operational models, with ability to interpret data for service improvement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex clinical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple clinical and operational responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting, documentation, and data analysis.
