About the job
Satori is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners who are passionate about delivering meaningful frontline, clinic-based collaborative primary care in a remote Indigenous community. Successful candidates will work independently within their full scope of practice to provide in-clinic and virtual patient care at the Golden Opportunity Medical Clinic in Wabasca-Desmarais, Alberta.
As a Nurse Practitioner with Satori Health, you will play a pivotal role in providing patients with comprehensive primary healthcare services. Your role will include conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, and developing personalized care plans with a focus on health promotion.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional clinic-based primary care to a panel of patients and walk-ins
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations to diagnose and treat patients’ acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostics tests such as lab work and imaging studies
- Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of practice, monitoring patient response and adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures
- Make referrals necessary to address patients’ healthcare needs effectively
- Perform medical procedures within the scope of practice
- Develop and implement personalized care plans for patients, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless quality patient care
- Stay informed about current medical advancements, treatment protocols, and evidence-based practices
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate fully in the Satori Collaborative Health Program
Work Schedule & Location
- Schedule: Rotational schedule of two weeks in-clinic care followed by two weeks from home
- Clinic: Golden Opportunity Medical – 876 Mistassiniy Road South Wabasca, AB T0G 2K0
- Hours of work: Full time (40 hours per week). Follow the hours of the assigned clinic(s) and may include evenings and weekends. Satori’s NPs also participate in two after-hours phone rounds weekly
Requirements
- A valid unrestricted Alberta (All-Ages or Adult-Only) Nurse Practitioner license
- A minimum of two year’s practice experience in a primary care setting
- Proven clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, demonstrating competence in patient care
- The ability to use evidence-based practice to formulate diagnoses and establish comprehensive, holistic and therapeutic care plans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
- Experience providing care in a rural or remote setting is an asset
