The Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role will be serving the community of Points West Living Drayton Valley in Drayton Valley, Alberta. The LPN is responsible for ensuring top resident care is a priority, with a high level of focus in time management.

Ensuring that care is provided in accordance with nursing best practices, our Well-Being Strategies, quality improvement guidelines, and regulations

Growing Clinical Mentor Care Partner skills to be effective advocates for the Residents in helping them achieve the highest practicable physical, mental, and spiritual well-being possible

Performs duties and services required, and Supports the Resident’s lifestyle in accordance with the Resident’s individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare
-
Provides medication assistance to the Residents, according to current Well-Being Strategies
-
Mentors and delegates nursing tasks to Care Partners as per accepted practice standards and Wellness Strategies
-
Identifies health, safety or maintenance issues, and reports as required
-
Ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement and adherence to safe work practices
-
Provide impartial support and excellent relationship building skills to nurture, understand, and respect residents, families, visitors, and external Care Partners to ensure the vibrancy of our community
-
Liaising with Doctors, Pharmacists, Homecare Nurse, Manager, families, and any other people required to facilitate the highest care for the Resident
-
Participates in ongoing educational programs to update knowledge on applicable topics
-
Attains and maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:
-
Must be a graduate of a recognized LPN program
-
Must be registered and in good standing with their related Licensing Body (CLPNA)
-
Must hold valid certification in First Aid and CPR
-
Prior to employment, obtain a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
