HOURS OF WORK: Days, Nights, 7 days per week extended tours

Position Summary:

As a member of the Unit Patient Care Team in the Emergency Department of the Hospital, the Registered Practical Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients, in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and policies and the Standards of Nursing Practice. The Registered Practical Nurse works under the direction of and in conjunction with other regulated health care professional members of the team. The RPN participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centered environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • A Registered Practical Nurse currently registered with College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Preference will be given to those individuals who have had related client/patient care experience in an acute care or emergency care environment and have successfully worked as a member of a workplace team
  • Preference given to those with 2 or more years of current acute care experience
  • Valid BCLS and maintained throughout employment
  • Member of RPNAO preferred
  • Emergency Nursing Certificate Preferred
