The Adult Mental Health Program at Kingston Health Sciences Centre’s KGH site is for adults admitted to the service to either our Intensive Observation Unit or the Main adult unit depending on assessment. All Children under the age of 18 are admitted to the Child and Adolescent unit.
As a registered Nurse with our Inpatient Mental Health team you are supported in the early stages of the recovery-based care to our patients with a diverse and collaborative interprofessional team of care providers including Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Patient Care Assistants, and many more.
The RN is responsible for ensuring that practice and conduct meets legislative requirements and the standards of the profession as designed by the College of Nurses of Ontario. RNs’ practice will also comply with Kingston Health Sciences Centre’s (KHSC) policies and procedures.
Within this role the Registered Nurse is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the KHSC strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.
