Required

• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current certification in ACLS, BCLS or CPR, or proof of enrolment in a recertification course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid certificate at the time of hire/transfer.
• Current (within past 3 years) minimum of 2 years inpatient surgical department, PACU, operating room, or endoscopy procedure experience and proficiency with related technology.
• Completion of a recognized Critical Care Nursing Program.
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review).

Duties

• Patient care including pre/post Endoscopy procedure.
• Skills requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgement in assessing, planning, administering and evaluating patient care.
• Provides health education teaching to patient and their family.
• Maintains patient records and meets documentation requirements in a computerized environment.
• Participates in continuing education and risk management programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
• Responsible for supervision and guidance of other members of the health care team and acts as mentor for other nurses.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Required Occasionally – fine finger movements, shoulder movements (up/down), and
• Required Rarely – foot action.
