The Opportunity:

This dynamic position allows for direct patient care in a nurse-led clinic administering biologics and other specialty medications. In this role, you will manage patients across multiple therapeutic areas including but not limited to, GI, rheumatology, neurology, oncology, dermatology and more. The Registered Nurse will be the clinic’s lead operator to ensure all requirements are met from a quality compliance standpoint and from a quality patient care treatment perspective.

The ideal candidate is one who is passionate about patient care and is someone who wants to continuously build on processes that help improve patient access and care. The candidate will embrace curiosity and be bold in building best practices that will create significant change in the way patients receive care.

A Day in the Life (What you will do here):

  • Work as an extension of healthcare team to respective physician practices.
  • Perform clinic and patient registration activities, according to protocols and applicable business procedures.
  • Provide medical support to patients and HCPs, including but not limited to education on specific diseases, therapies, and disease management.
  • Support/monitor administration of IV infusion or injectable treatments in the clinic.
  • Administers medications (IM and SC) in the clinic settings as required.
  • Monitors patients post-Infusion/post injection, and documents on all activities completed.
  • Prepare for and attend specialized training sessions for specific therapies as required.
  • Review patient files prior to treatment to capture medical history.
  • Document and maintain patient records to ensure treatment history is adequately captured.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate personnel.
  • Liaise with physicians’ offices, pharmacies, services providers, and other parties to provide comprehensive and coordinated service to patients and HCPs.
  • Participates in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Administer and adhere to patient care protocols, including clinical monitoring, data collection, on-going patient follow-up, compliance, therapy disruption/discontinuation monitoring, adverse event reporting and liaison with primary healthcare providers.
  • Follow and abide by all provincial College of Nurses guidelines while providing patient care.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What you need to ensure you are set up for success:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of infusion experience or equivalent
  • Passionate at supporting patient care and removing barriers to care.
  • Licensed RN
  • Experience working in IBD, rheumatology, neurology or oncology areas is considered an asset
  • CPR and First-Aid certification required.
  • ACLS certificate required.
  • Able to confidently deliver education including but not limited to patient self-injection education
  • Ability to confidently administer medication IM and or SC
  • Experience in a critical care, emergency, and acute care a strong asset
  • Ability to work autonomously with little supervision, as part of a larger remote team
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry an asset
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible with patient and HCP requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Adhere to Sentrex policies and procedures.
