TELUS Health Care Centres is seeking Nurse Practitioners (NP) to join our dynamic interdisciplinary team in Calgary. This role focuses significantly on pediatric and young adult populations, while also providing comprehensive primary care across the lifespan.
Our Nurse Practitioners work collaboratively with Family Physicians, Registered Nurses, Kinesiologists, Dietitians, and other allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, preventative primary care. We believe that patients benefit from comprehensive and individualized care that includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support. We know that proactive follow-up leads to better therapeutic outcomes through enhanced patient participation and deeper therapeutic relationships.
As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide holistic, family-centered care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as patients across all age groups. You will practice to your full scope, playing an important role in assessing, diagnosing, and establishing care plans that are relevant to each patient and family's unique situation.
As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll
- Deliver exceptional, evidence-based care: Conduct comprehensive assessments, order diagnostic tests, perform procedures, prescribe both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, and connect patients with specialists when they need additional support
- Build lasting relationships: Provide both episodic care for immediate needs and longitudinal care that supports patients throughout their health journey
- Conduct proactive follow-ups that promote wellness, prevent disease, and educate patients and families on managing their health with confidence
- Work side-by-side with other nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to create a truly integrated, team-based care experience
- Make thoughtful internal and external referrals that ensure patients receive the right care at the right time
- Explore opportunities to deliver complex and specialized care in areas such as prenatal care, women's health, travel health, occupational health, and chronic disease prevention and management
What you bring:
- Masters of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) degree, or equivalent, post-Master’s diploma - Nurse Practitioner
- Current registration as a practicing Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
- Active, unrestricted provincial license(s) with prescribing and/or lab numbers
- Active CPR AED Level C certification
- A natural ability to take initiative and champion preventative care that keeps patients healthy and thriving
- Strong organizational skills paired with a positive, can-do attitude that inspires both colleagues and patients
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that foster meaningful connections with team members and patients alike
- Comfort with technology-supported care, including EMRs and digital health tools that enhance the patient experience
- A deep commitment to delivering comprehensive, personalized care that creates exceptional experiences and drives the best possible health outcomes
Great-to-haves
- 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care, or an extensive clinical background as a Registered Nurse that's prepared you to make an immediate impact
- Background in pediatric primary care that demonstrates your ability to connect with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families
- Additional training in primary care procedures that expands your ability to serve patients
